Hi, I’m Sid Barber and I absolutely love hot food! Coming from an Asian background, spicy food has been a key part of my upbringing. I have been eating chillies since the day I was born so it has been ingrained into my day to day life. My love and passion for hot food inspired me to enter a Chilli Eating Competition in my home town of Reading back in 2015. Shock, horror, surprise… I won! After this, it had become an annual tradition to partake in Chilli Eating Competitions hosted by the Clifton Chilli Club.

I didn’t really take these contests that seriously, they were more so just a bit of fun and a nice day out. But suddenly out of the blue I was invited by my hero Smokin’ Ed Currie to represent the UK in his Inaugural International Pepper Eating Contest in August of 2019. This was the spark that ignited my interest in joining the chilli community. So I created a YouTube channel under the name of Chilli Sid where I have been posting hot sauce reviews and crazy challenges!

Chilli Sid Hot Sauce

The idea of releasing my own range of hot sauces was never even a consideration. But after conversations with Chilli Olly, we decided it would be a great idea and thus Chilli Sid Hot Sauce was born. The concept behind the sauces is to blend the familiar flavours you might find in Western cooking with  spices from the East, inspired my roots and heritage.

Chilli Sid Hot Sauce is produced in collaboration with Chilli Olly and Chilli Pepper Perrett. Showcasing the flavours of India with a superhot kick. Hope you enjoy!
